Erykah Badu Stalked, Then Proceeds to Tear Up SXSW

Erykah Badu: Not too worse for wear.

I love Erykah Badu. On top of making some of the hottest albums over the past decade (you want real music?: Baduizm, Mama's Gun. Take some notes people!), she can still make it to a planned concert despite a major and potentially life-threatening hiccup. According to TMZ, Badu had an encounter with a stalker at her home in Dallas, TX. And not to worry her fans expecting her to make her planned performance at SXSW in Austin (which is a mere 4 hours away), she Twittered the whole hair-raising experience, from arrest to the point she made it on stage. TMZ, go!:

Badu used the all-powerful Twitter to update fans, saying "Police just apprehended a stalker in front of my house. Stay tuned to details."

Erykah went on to say the woman had been outside of her house multiple times -- and she had "several misc. items spread out in the grass. Blue shutters, a rabbit, a tucan and a sketch book."
She was able to make the performance an hour late, where she fit in a couple of songs, including a freestyle with another favorite of mine Common and a not-so-much-anymore favorite of mine Kanye West.

So when you're at your next Lady GaGa concert and she's late because her crazy-ass onesie Superwoman-on-crack costume doesn't match her boots, then keep Ms. Badu in mind.
